Now that #2 son has moved out, I get my sewing room. I have to call it a sewing room cuz 'you can knit anywhere, why do you need a room???' Calling it a sewing room makes more sense to some who shall not be named. I've been dreaming of this 'sewing/knitting/stashing/reading/napping/DVRTVing/girly' room for many years. Here is the newest addition to the (i'll have to think if a name for) room.
Ta..daa!

A super sewing/embroidery machine. It was relatively inexpensive for an embroidery machine because it uses the puter's brains for fancy stuff. I can download designs to embroider and it also takes any clip art, digitizes it and then I can use it. I love it.. That's how I made the little romper below. Working on a matching dress for his big sis. They live in San Fransisco and the weather is always nice, so I hear.

Back to knitting. I have a pair of socks going in a check pattern of knit3, purl3. I'm also doing the back of the heel in this pattern instead of the regular (boring) heel.

That is one fancy looking machine! Have fun with your own space.

To answer your question: I'm guessing you mean base yarn? I have ordered from a few different places. Knit Picks is good if you're looking for a starting point.

That's wonderful! I have a "normal" sewing machine and I dream of it... actually I have stopped sewing because I have a little baby (six months) and I don't feel confident with all the stuff I have to use while I sew and take care of him at the same time (ironing while feeding him???). But I can always knit...
The special room? Another dream, at the moment the room is for the baby, and I knit in the kitchen.
