So many times I've said: The amount of knitting I do is in direct relation to the amount of stress I have. Well, today I'll probably knit up a whole wardrobe. I have got to get out of that place. Maybe a less stressful job. Is there such a thing in education these days? Back to knitting.

Aw, I'm sorry that work is stressful for you. Glad that you have knitting to keep you sane!

All the creativity has been taken out of teaching. It's all about the MCAS (standardized testing) these days.

My neice just got a job teaching 5th grade. They gave her all the good kids and no IEPs. She thought they were being easy on the new teacher. Nope. They gave her all the kids who would do good on the MCAS so the new teacher would have the chance to mess up the school's MCAS scores.

My son is in 2nd grade. The way they do math is amazing. 5 different ways to add 55 + 45.
For the kids who will naturally gravitate toward math and science this is great. For the rest it is a living hell and they'll hate it even more as I'm sure they are confused beyond belief.
