Knitting School

My new job, Reading Teacher is great! I do miss the classroom. The things I miss are fewer than the things I don't. That somehow makes sense. I won't bore you with the details, but I no longer drag my butt at the end of the day. Oh, and 1 more, PAPERWORK, of all colors, shapes, sizes, due dates. Ahhhh, no more.
I've started teaching an after school Knitting Class on Fridays. 11 little first and second graders. We just had the first class and OMG. I started with finger knitting and most were able to make a chain...in 1 hour! Good thing only 9 showed up. I had posters, visuals, examples, tons of yarn and sticks. I'll see how many return for lesson #2. Hopefully some will drop out. 11 six-seven year olds is too many for 1 person. Here's the best part, I get paid $48.70 for 1 1/2 hrs. Crazy, I know! So, all is well this school year.
I'm reading a young adult book, Artemis Fowl, really good if you like oddball fantasy. Reminds me of the Golden Compass books. I finished the Millennium Trilogy--Dragon Tatoo girl etc. I loved them. Here's the worst part. The writing was so good, I couldn't read anything after them. So, Eoin Colfer, here I come.
